Three Miniatures (Grade 1.5) for flexible band instrumentation

Duration: 2 minutes

*Highest 1st trumpet note is D

 About the Piece

Three Miniatures is a 3-movement work and each movement is in a different key (Bb, F and Eb major). Students will have the opportunity to work in these different keys and play a variety of styles of articulation. The first movement is in a fanfare style, the second movement is lyrical, and the final movement is a march.

 Note to Conductor

While this piece can be played with a flexible instrumentation, you can also use the piece as chamber music.  All 3 movements will work for a brass quintet or a woodwind ensemble.  I provided a 2nd trombone part that covers part 5 if a tuba player is not available.
