About the Music:

Shifting Shadows consists of many contrasting sections with unexpected key and dynamic changes. Every instrument section in the ensemble has an important role throughout the piece. Performers will need to use different styles of articulation and will also have the opportunity to demonstrate supreme musicality. The lyrical sections contain many layers and contrapuntal lines, so it is important to know who has the main melody. This piece gives many opportunities to work on light and heavy articulation, dynamics, key changes, and confidence building in the lighter textures of the piece.
