Note

FROSTFIRE features a professional level soloist with a young band. Students play two main contrasting
motives throughout the piece: an articulate, syncopated motive and a lyrical lip slur motive. The soloist
imitates the band with these ideas throughout the piece, but also breaks away into new thematic material.
